Desiree DePriest, Ph.D.
Dr. DePriest is a graduate professor in the School of Information Technology teaching and developing several courses in the master of science program. She is an avid researcher and international presenter at both business expos and academic symposiums. She serves as course lead and subject matter expert for Business Intelligence in the MSIT, in the areas of Decision Support and Artificial Intelligence and has been part of the Kaplan community for nine years. Her current presentation series, “The Fifth Dimension,” covers topics from instructional design to 21st century teaming through expanding constructivist theories into the areas of situated learning, guided discovery and recognition-primed decisions models. Dr. DePriest owns and operates a small IT development contracting business supplying services from instructional design, course development and database management through to LMS/CMS migrations. Dr. DePriest is a member of The Association of University Women and the Higher Education Teaching and Learning Group. She is the producer and host of DiverseCity Radio, an eclectic show on Kaplan Radio. Dr. DePriest is passionate about the opportunities in 21st century technology, education and business. Her motto is, “We are all teachers and students.”
