Jessica Egan is an Instructional Specialist with the College of Liberal Arts at Ashford University. She has worked in the field of education for six years in various capacities that focus on: English as a Second Language (ESL), K-12 English, and remedial English at the community college level. Jessica has also held a variety of administrative positions at the university level. When asked why she went into education, Jessica reflects on her experience working in low-income schools helping at-risk students to succeed in academia. Her passion lies in motivating and engaging nontraditional students and in providing them with technological learning tools they otherwise would have not had the opportunity to learn from.

The student experience has been molded so that students now have the ability to apply digital literacy within the classroom. This interactive approach has engaged our students, promoting ample opportunity for collaboration and critical thinking.
