Recorded: Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 @ 5:30 pm - 5:50 pm HST
Duration: 20 mins
In an online course there will be three distinct types of interactions that take place; learner-content interaction, learner-instructor interaction and learner-learner interaction. Students may need a structured activity in order to discuss the course content and interact with each other focused on the ideas being presented in class, but what format will work best? In recent years, research on online learning has grown significantly; many of the studies published examine effective strategies for online learning as well as other dimensions of online instruction. This study intends to shed light on online learning in high school environments and address the challenges that high school online teachers face as they work to set up a sense of community within their on line classes.
