Collaborative Research – The “Social” Way!
Recorded: Thursday, April 18th, 2013 @ 1:00 pm - 1:20 pm HST
Duration: 20 mins
Conducting research, even as a solo activity can be daunting task. Tracking references and resources can test even the most experienced researcher. Add a team of researchers to the project and the challenges can multiply exponentially. Why not use social reference management tools and technologies to share and collaborate with research colleagues, while storing your references in the Cloud?
This fast-paced, 20 minute session will introduce online, collaborative, and best of all, FREE resources available to help the research team coordinate references, share evaluations, and keep everything in a single, convenient location. PDF files are available and accessible for everyone on the team. When it’s time to generate the citations and bibliography, everyone is using a single source. Additional discussions will include using social reference management tools to find valuable information through “crowd sourcing” and locating possible research partners.
Tools discussed will include Mendeley, Zotero, and Cite-U-Like.
