Engage the Disengaged: Strategies for addressing the expectations of today’s online millennials
Recorded: Thursday, April 18th, 2013 @ 3:00 pm - 3:40 pm HST
Duration: 40 mins
Are we going to engage or disengage our students? The choice is ours. It is certainly not the short attention span of our students or their lack of focus! We are expecting today’s students to learn based on yesterday’s educational strategies. Students want to learn using new strategies and technology! This is not going to be solved by bringing new ‘lesson plans’ into our curriculum, it is much more than that.
How to tune them in to engage with the curriculum is every educator’s primary objective and a top priority one. This presentation will explore ways instructors engage students in virtual classrooms! We will explore from the perspective of students as to how to connect and engage them in the virtual setting. We will answer the question of how to engage the disengaged in our presentation through the use of case studies, strategies and new technology.
